ABOUT

Dave Osborne

It was a children's Christmas party when Dave was five years old that his journey started in animation. A climax to the festivities was a film show using a 16mm projector. The first film was a classic Tom and Jerry cartoon. The colours, sounds and of course the drawings brought to life on screen fascinated and enthralled Dave. From that moment onwards he knew what he wanted to do in life. After leaving school he attended various art schools including West Surrey College of Art where he studied animation and entered the industry in 1987 as an animator. By the early 1990s Dave was a director at Telemagination working on various 2D TV series.

By the late 1990s Dave had moved into 3DCGI directing one of the first CG TV shows called The Cubeez.  From there he worked on a number of action adventure TV shows with a spell at Cosgrove Hall Films. A large scale biblical TV series  called Friends and Heroes took him to US and Canada to work with leading script writers, and artists. This was followed by four years with Endemol making a TV series and Feature based on the super hero comics of The 99.

Dave then returned to the newly reformed CHF in Manchester. He helped set-up the new 2D studio where he co-directed the first 52 episodes of Pip Ahoy! starring Sir David Jason and the singing talents of Stacy Solomon.  Dave also wrote the story for the Pip Ahoy! Christmas Special. The lure of another childhood love, LEGO found Dave working on Nexo Knights for M2 Entertainment as Series Director.

Currently Dave is working as Series Director on Mr Bean the animated TV series for Tiger Aspect.
